We Build For The Future
Chavez Concrete Pumping
Chavez Pumping was founded in 2017 by Mark Chavez in response to unreliable service providers. Initially, it started with a single 39m concrete pump exclusively for Chavez Concrete Contractors. This revealed local demand, leading to the formation of a new company and values. A lighthearted conversation soon turned into their first contract with Facebook after receiving their first concrete pump.
Facing high demand and concrete volume, the company purchased another pump, a new 46m, showcasing their belief in themselves and their determination. With Schwing America's support, the 46m arrived early, along with a specialty 31m boom and a 52m pump. To address labor shortages, they introduced a Telebelt TB130, even though this was a leap of faith in New Mexico where such technology was unfamiliar. Innovative promotions and demos helped them establish a strong presence in the local concrete community. Chavez extended their boom collection to include a 58m and a compact 17m boom, offering flexibility to clients.
Chavez secured contracts for major projects across New Mexico and beyond, including the widely recognized Facebook project. The company also assisted demanding schedules, completing challenging concrete placements. An intriguing "Spin Launch" project in New Mexico's Spaceport added to their diverse portfolio.
Including work in Louisiana, Oregon, and Washington.
The firm maintains strong relationships with key contractors, companies like Amazon, who the CCP can boast to completing the largest Amazon on the western seaboard for one of the largest companies in the world.
Including a branch in Dallas Texas where that branch owns and operates 4 concrete pumps, pumping several thousand yards a week.
Safety will remain paramount for Chavez, with annual boom inspections, certified inspectors, and concrete pump operator certification. Their commitment to safety and clients will continue to drive their success in the future.
Equipment
The demanding schedule and the sheer volume of concrete thrust the company into purchasing another pump, this time a new 46m.
Chavez can now look back with pride and say that it bet on itself. What equipment it may have lacked at the time, it was quickly made up by its ability to source equipment, determination, and an old fashion “my word, is my word” values. Thanks to Schwing America's commitment, their 46m arrived ahead of schedule and ready on day one. Soon after the 46m’s arrival Chavez again supplied the project with a “specialty 31m boom” that features the industry’s only telescopic boom, and a 52m pump.
In October 2018, the two-year-old company was inspired to find solutions to the lack of manpower that everyone was facing. A Telebelt TB130 was a simple fix to combat the growing labor shortage that would allow contractors to move dirt, mulch, stone, as well as concrete.
The Telebelt was a leap of faith in New Mexico that had never seen a locally owned Telebelt. A daunting task for Mark Chavez to create this niche. Creative promotions, one-time demos, and word of mouth still left early doubt and many nights questioning the purchase. Soon its uses got more creative. Those videos were shared within the local concrete community, soon becoming a one-stop shop for contractors. Placing concrete in the morning and base course in the afternoon without the need for another setup, cleanup, or move.
In addition to its bigger boom collection, Chavez decided it was time for a 58m now that the market was needing more length. In addition to length, now it needed compact as well, adding a 17m small boom for compact areas.
The ability to service any project at any level with the most diverse fleet in the state of New Mexico. Chavez’s booms started with a 17m, increasing to a (2) 31m, (3) 39m, 43m, 46m, 52m, and a 58m. This allows the customer a wide range of flexibility when choosing the correct pump for their needs.
Projects
Chavez boasts contracts with New Mexico’s largest projects including operating in Texas, Louisiana, Oregon, Arizona, and Washington.
New Mexico’s widely publicized Facebook project was what put CCP on the map. The first phase is now completed after 4 years and CCP is excited to announce being contracted for the 2nd phase which is rumored to run up to 10 years.
“Project Chico”, Amazon’s 1st distribution center in New Mexico is another exciting project. This building is now the largest building in the state of New Mexico at 2.6 million SQFT.
On two separate occasions Chavez was asked to help assist a demanding schedule. The first placement would include two concrete pumps, pumping concrete 24hrs a day for 6 days straight without stopping, hour 1 till hour 144th. The second spanned 8 days pumping roughly 18,000 yards of concrete. Each individual placement was pumped though a minimum of 500’ of 5” hardline system. The longest system placement was a run of 1100’ of hardline system, 970 yards, on this placement. Chicos next door neighbor, “Project Nico” is a smaller hub for Chico that was roughly 1 million SQFT was also done by Chavez.
A secret and now widely publicized “Spin Launch” project located near New Mexico’s Space Port in southern New Mexico also met had special demands being the first of its kind in the world. This revolutionary project is now successfully launching test packages to the edge of space.
Chavez also maintains excellent relationships with New Mexico’s largest general contractors, state, and federal organizations. Los Alamos National Labs, Sandia National Labs, Netflix, META, Amazon, FedEx, and never forgotten, residential slabs and the local DYI home contractor who’s always is provided the same service and quality.
Safety
Chavez mandates a 2-day shut down each year for its self-imposed annual Boom inspection on every concrete pump. This procedure can be done by many but only a select (5) national wide are factory-approved certified boom inspectors who the manufacturer will stand behind. Accompanying a stringent annual service, Chavez also mandates each concrete pump operator must study and obtain their ACPA (American Concrete Pumping Association) certification card after being hired. This is the industry’s only recognized pump-specific safety certification for concrete pump operators. This is not mandatory nationwide, yet, but very well could be in the next 5 years.
As the future of Chavez Pumping continues it will be its rigorous and continued “Safety First” and “contractor first” approach that will propel it into the future.
